일본이 전 국민을 대상으로 무료 백신접종을 확언하기는 12월 초. 이 계획에 의하면 전국민 대상 접종은 내년 상반기 중에 완료한다는 것이다.

이를 위해 일본정부는 세 개 제약회사와 접촉했다. NHK 보도에 의하면 이 백신 프로그램은 2월 말에 시작한단다. 일본 후생성은 광역자치단체에 대해 코로나 백신접종을 준비하라고 당부했다. 1만명에 달하는 의료진이 첫번째 접종대상이다.

이어 다른 일선 보건 인력은 3월 중순 내지 말에는 접종한다. 나머지 국민을 위한 백신은 4월 혹은 그 이후에 확보가능할 전망이라고.
